Director: Elvina Hill
Ms. Vina is certified in Montessori Toddler (3-6 year old) training through NAMC. Ms. Vina has worked with us since 2018. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan University in 2015 with her B.S. in Elementary Education and endorsements in Early Childhood Education, Reading, and Social Studies. She is a co-director at Montessori Nursery and teaches preschool at the Montessori Children’s Garden in the Morning. She was born in the Philippines but grew up in Iowa. She lives in Swisher with her husband, Joel and their four children: Braysen, Tatum, Nigel, and Mirella. Ms. Elsa is her mother and lives with them too. She is passionate about early childhood education and believes it is the foundation of a child’s learning. She loves Montessori education because she believes it helps foster independence, assertiveness, socio-emotional development, and life skills through the different areas of learning. She loves that Montessori education allows teachers and children to grow together in their learning and relationship because it helps to strengthen the bond between them. She feels the purpose in working with children from all ages and stages. She strives to make children in her care feel like one of my own as well as building connections and relationships with the families. Outside of school, she loves to spend time with my family and friends, go camping, dance, and sing karaoke.
